NETWORKS AND DATA CENTERS INTERCONNECTED WITH TERNA NATIONAL HUBS
Calabria, the sunny south part of Italy, not only plays a strategic role in the development of renewable energy, but it is also an area rich in experts in the tech sector. With these solid assumptions Intendo business idea was born as an innovative information technology provider based in Calabria, with activities spread across all over Italy.
Intendo gained significant experience in the energy sector supporting energy producers and energy-intensive industries for their telecommunication interconnessions to Terna (Italian Trasnmission System Operator – TSO) for telecontrol and defense networks through a proprietary IP Network.
TERNA CONNECTIVITY
Intendo has created direct interconnections with Terna Rete Italia’s ICT infrastructure which, in light of the updated technical specifications, allows it to create MPLS network connections for all types of UPDM/RTU and UPDC services required by renewable energy producers (with significant plants) and industries with interruptible plants, respectively.
Operating with a vertical consultancy approach on telecommunications services for Terna, Intendo supports customers both on the engineering side, for new projects, and on the operations side, for the technological overhaul of existing CDN/ISDN connectivity services.
The activities managed by Intendo include:
Consulting, design, and
implementation of LAN/WAN data networks to support SCADA, RTU/Virtual RTU, Terna Gateway Concentrator systems
Provision of internet and/or private connectivity via a national access network on various carriers: copper, fiber optics, radio bridge, 4G/5G FWA
Consulting and supply in accordance with Terna Network Control
System Guidelines
Data Center services to support SCADA systems, Gateway Concentrators with facilities directly interconnected to the manufacturer’s data network and/or Terna Rete Italia
Provision of MPLS connectivity to Terna’s Interruptible Control
Desk (BMI)

Provision of MPLS connectivity
